Happy New Year

Just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a happy new year!

We hope you have been enjoying the festive season as much as we have. Things didn't go quite the way we planned it as Russ's dad was unwell just before christmas. There was a bit of re-thinking and changing of plans but we did manage to see both sets of grandparents during the xmas break - even if only briefly in the case of Grandma and Grandpa. We hope to see them again soon, along with Nic and John, and little Rocco of course!

We celebrated xmas at my parents house in the end and Phoebe and Ezra enjoyed all the attention from the 10 adults and daft doggy that were around at the time. They got some great presents (and so did we) - we are one seriously lucky family!

A quick run down (for K, who asked ;):

Phoebe's main present was the treeblocks woodland lodge/treehouse which was so much fun to assemble. She got some mamakopp wooden animals and etsy acorn people too and various other bits in her stocking. She loved her umbrella and skipping rope! She also got lovely presents from family and friends including bits to add to her train set, finger puppets, a wooden iron and lorry and beautiful crayon roll. She also got a cd including her favourite ever song - can you catch the moon.

Ezra got some soft blocks and wooden ones with coloured water in, and also some gorgeous rainbow Padraig Cottage slippers. Oh, and a roller elephant and a few board books. From family and friends he got moe lovely things including a wave stacker, bamboo bowl and cutlery, wooden discovery balls, a squeaky pirate and a push along flappy duck.

I got a juicer, some lovely yarn, a cute dress/skirt, some lush stuff and some great books, including a couple on raw food. I've already finished Green Smoothie Revolution and loved it, Now i have my eye on all of Victoria Boutenko's books. :)

Russ got a solar powered digital radio, some cds, a pizza stone and some food and veg growing books.

Thank you so much to our friends and family. We feel so lucky, and we hope you liked your presents too!

Its been so great having Russ home. Phoebe is loving it, and i am too. We've been doing lots of talking and making plans for 2010. We hope to share some of our thoughts with you soon.

So happy new year to you all - we hope it will be a good one!

BabaSling

I've been reviewing the BabaSling for The Green Parent magazine (available in Smiths, Waitrose and Sainsburys in January! ;) and here are some action shots. It was fun to try out something different that i wouldn't have necessarily picked myself. My 15 minutes of fame await! lol.

Nana's House

Phoebe enjoyed helping make a quiche - Nana makes the best quiches!

We also 'helped' (ha!) put the tree up and generally had a nice catch up. We're going to go and visit for a couple of days next week too. :)

Afterwards we met up with my antenatal group from when Phoebe was born. I don't think we had seen them since last christmas. We are all very different (or maybe that should be that we are very different. lol) but we get on well and enjoyed having a chat and catch up and seeing how the little ones had grown. Poor Becky was unwell and couldn't come so that meant Phoebe and 6 boys! Hope she is better by now. Good to see you all. xx

Sibling Love

Merry Christmas!

Making A Christmas Decoration

Phoebe has been doing her first sewing project - weaving christmassy ribbons in and out of a disc. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be for but i bought it a while ago from a garden centre craft dept with this in mind. It now hangs proudly on our tree.

New Sling

Here are a few shots of my beautiful new sling in use. It is an Ellaroo wrap in LaRae colourway and was bought preloved from a lovely mama, Rachel at Our Free Range Family. It was her first sling and so was very important to her and has carried her two boys these past few years. Unsuprisingly, she had mixed feelings about letting it go. I just wanted to say a big thank you. We love it. Ezra has been enjoying some different colours to look at and he loves the tassles! It will be used for the years to come by our family now, for Ezra and my future babies. Thanks Rachel. xx
